VOLUNTEERS -

If you are free and would like to offer your time and volunteer at our showcase on 3rd May 2012 in Stafford please Email - staffordshirefestival@gmail.com with the heading Music and Lit. Volunteers

CLASSICAL PERFORMERS AND STORY TELLERS -

We are currently looking for classical musicians, vocalists, story tellers, choirs and vocal harmony groups for our evening of music and literature - you will perform alongside the finalists of our Youth Choir competition!

CHOIR NEWS -

We now have a 3rd category for our choir competition, this allows choirs whose members span across our junior and senior sections but all members are under 18.

Categories are as follows -

Junior - (Primary Age)

Senior- (Secondary Age)

Combined - Under 18's


LITERATURE NEWS-

We are looking for people to read their Creative Writing work at our event on May 3rd 2012, St Marys Church in Stafford.

We are also compiling a list of local choirs and classical performers for future events please contact us if you would like to be involved somehow.

Marianne Ayling

  A vocal tutor and singer with Ex Cathedra and conducts and leads a number of choirs. She is an experienced Primary class teacher and continues to teach music in Staffordshire.

Olugbala is a solo artist Contemporary Composer who specialises in Music and Poetry,Singing, African Drums,Acoustic & Electric Guitar,Keyboard and Didgeridoo
 
Recent International tours include -

Germany; Lorrach.
USA; New York, Hudson, Georgia

Our first judge has been confirmed -

Barbara Devey



Barbara was a soloist in both school and church choirs as a child
and has continued to perform regularly for more than 45yrs in vocal groups / choirs/ and Musical Theatre Productions.

Some of her favourite Principal roles in the last 10years have been ‘Eliza ‘(My Fair Lady), ‘Nellie ‘(South Pacific), ’Meg’ (Brigadoon), ‘Liz’(High Society), ‘Bonnie’(Anything Goes)‘Adelaide Adams ’(Calamity Jane )and ‘Svetlana’(Chess). She is currently rehearsing to play Madame De la Grand Bouche (The Opera Singing Wardrobe) in ‘Beauty & The Beast’.

In 2006 she formed a female Vocal Group ‘Prima Donna ‘ who regularly perform at venues in and around the West Midlands, singing in a mix of styles & Genre from pop music, 1940s, Musical Theatre, A Cappella, Swing, Jazz & Blues.
